About the Role

AGMDC is the RF and microwave design division of AmpliTech Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMPG), designing MMICs and subsystem hardware for SATCOM, defense, 5G, space, and quantum computing from simulation through packaged, tested hardware. We are looking for a Senior RF Test Systems Engineer to build and run the automated test stations that characterize our LNAs, MMICs, and RF subsystems, using Python to turn bench measurements into fast, repeatable production test.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) stations in Python for engineering characterization and production test
  • Automate S-parameter measurements on vector network analyzers (VNAs), including calibration, de-embedding, and fixture setup
  • Develop noise figure and gain measurements using noise figure analyzers and Y-factor methods
  • Automate power sweeps to measure P1dB, Psat, OIP3, and efficiency with signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and power meters
  • Test 5G NR modulated signals, including ACLR, EVM, and linearity measurements
  • Build tools for data collection, analysis, and reporting, and maintain test limits, procedures, and test data records
  • Troubleshoot test hardware, fixtures, and measurement anomalies, and support root-cause analysis with the design team
  • Keep test equipment calibrated and ready, and help specify new test capability as programs require

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in RF test, RF measurement, or RF hardware engineering
  • Hands-on experience with VNAs, noise figure analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and power meters
  • Strong Python skills for instrument control and data analysis
  • Solid understanding of S-parameters, noise figure, compression, and linearity measurements
  • Working knowledge of 5G NR signals and modulated measurements
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience testing LNAs, MMICs, or RF modules at microwave and mmWave frequencies
  • Experience with on-wafer or fixtured test and calibration methods
  • Familiarity with Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz, or similar instrument ecosystems
  • Experience with Git and building test data dashboards or databases
  • US Person status for work on ITAR-controlled programs
