Location: Allen, TX | 2nd Shift | Full Time or Part Time.

About the Role

AGMDC is the RF and microwave design division of AmpliTech Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMPG), designing MMICs and subsystem hardware for SATCOM, defense, 5G, space, and quantum computing from simulation through packaged, tested hardware. We are looking for a 2nd Shift Engineering Technician to run our automated RF test stations, keep the lab productive after hours, and help move prototype and production hardware through test. This position is open as either full time or part time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run RF test on LNAs, MMICs, and RF subsystems using our automated test stations, and record and report results
  • Set up and calibrate VNA, noise figure, and power test stations to documented procedures
  • Perform basic assembly, soldering, and rework of RF boards and modules
  • Troubleshoot failing units and test setups, and write up issues clearly for the engineering team
  • Work with the test and design engineers to improve test procedures, fixtures, and throughput
  • Follow proper ESD and handling procedures and keep the lab and equipment organized
  • Provide clear shift handoff notes on test progress, open issues, and equipment status

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Electronics or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in RF test in a production or engineering environment
  • Hands-on experience with RF test equipment such as VNAs, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and power sensors
  • Understanding of RF and DC circuits, and the ability to read schematics and datasheets
  • Able to work independently on 2nd shift and drive issues to resolution
  • Good written and verbal communication, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience testing RF semiconductors or microwave modules
  • Experience running automated test equipment, including Python-based test software
  • Soldering and rework experience on RF PCBs (IPC certification a plus)
  • US Person status for work on ITAR-controlled programs
